Solo: A Star Wars Story official synopsis Han Solo

Lucasfilm has released the official synopsis for the Han Solo standalone film Solo: A Star Wars Story, and it… doesn’t say anything we couldn’t already guess?

Read for yourself:

Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.

If we’re going by the Legends canon (formerly the Expanded Universe), that could mean that we’d see the circumstances leading to Chewie’s life debt to Han (which does get revisited in Chuck Wendig’s Aftermath: Life Debt), how the Millennium Falcon passes hands in a game of sabacc, and a visit to Corellia (assuming that’s the “criminal underworld”). These details are all so ingrained in the character of Han Solo that it seems a given that we’ll see at least a few of them in Solo. And, of course, there’s that Solo merchandising that seems to point to the Kessel Run

It’s also interesting that the synopsis doesn’t point to any of the new characters, whose roles in the story are still unclear.

Most importantly, however, this is hopefully a ramp-up to new set photos and/or the first trailer, seeing as Solo is coming out in just over four months, on May 25.
